INTERESTING FACTS: The iconic interlocking wooden building blocks were originally invented in 1916 by John Lloyd Wright, the son of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright took his inspiration for the toy's stacking, earthquake-proof construction from the foundation of the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, which he helped his father design.
