PACKING AND SHIPPING

When purchasing from Phat Dog Vintage, you can expect safe, clean and professional packing. Packaging vintage items for shipment requires special attention and consideration to ensure that they arrive at their destination in the same condition they left in. We use an abundance of new bubble wrap, new boxes and other new packing materials to properly insulate your purchase from damage during transit.  We “mummify” all of our typewriters, and double box to properly insulate your typewriter.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING

Most items will ship either UPS Ground or USPS Parcel Select depending on which one will provide the best service at the best price. If it is possible to upgrade shipping for the same cost or less we will do so. Once the shipping label has been generated, the tracking number(s) will be emailed to the buyer.

Our shipping quotes are estimated. If we have over calculated the shipping/handling costs by more than a buck or two we will send you a refund for the difference.

We generally ship within 1-2 business days after receiving payment. Friday and weekend orders will be shipped on the next available business day. Items will be mailed to your billing address unless you notify us otherwise.  If you need an item faster, let us know and we will be happy to give you a shipping upgrade quote.

NEED AN ITEM IN A HURRY?

Due to the different weight and sizes of our items, please contact us so we can provide a quick quote for express mail.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Please contact us with your location and we will be more than happy to give you a postal quote. USPS Priority Mail International is the usual carrier choice for international shipments. Shipping large items to certain countries which have an inconvenient (79” length + girth) size restriction may be impossible.

International purchases may be subject to additional duties/taxes not included in the shipping quote. This varies by individual country and by the value of the item. It is the buyer’s responsibility to be aware of and to pay their country’s import duties. All international items require a customs form and will be marked as merchandise with their appropriate value (amount paid).

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

Due to the nature of vintage items, all sales are final. Phat Dog Vintage does not offer refunds, credits or exchanges. We do our best to accurately photograph and describe all items. If you have any questions about an item, be sure to contact us prior to purchase. If however you do have a complaint or we missed something in our description, please be sure to contact us so we may work something out. We want you to be happy!

Damages are a rare occurrence, but can happen due to negligent handling by shipping companies. If damage has occurred, please keep the item and all the packing materials. Photos of damage and making the item available to the shipper for inspection will be required for a full refund.

In the event of damage, the buyer can expect timely and proactive communication on how the situation is being resolved.

INFORMATION IN REGARDS TO THE EUROPEAN UNION RETURNS AND DATA PROTECTION LAW

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information  such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information if you contact me directly.

WHY I NEED YOUR INFORMATION

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest toimprove my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

DATA RETENTION

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL INFORMATION OUTSIDE THE EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

YOUR RIGHTS

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

RIGHT TO WITHDRAWL

Under the EU’s distance selling laws, buyers have the right to return certain products for any reason by contacting the seller within 14 days. This 14-day period will start the moment a customer receives a product, rather than at the time he or she purchases it. Within that time frame, buyers can change their minds and return products without providing a reason.

This rule does not apply to custom-made products, digital items, certain perishable goods, or goods that can’t be reused for health or hygiene reasons and are unsealed after delivery.

HOW TO CONTACT ME

For purposes of EU data protection law, I, Billie Carnes, am the data controller of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me at phatdog@mail.com.
